Jean was born in New Rochelle, New York and earned a B.A. in English Honors from Oberlin College. She has had careers as an actress and a TV writer. Aside from teaching at North Hills Prep, Jean also teaches screenwriting at UCLA Extension. Jean says she hopes to teach her students half as much as she learns from them. She is passionate about animals, people's rights, the environment, horseback riding (she has her own horse), and scuba diving.
