Field Trips
Recent field trips have included outings to see plays like The Lion King and The Rainmaker, a day at Medieval Times, excursions to art galleries, hikes in the mountains, and a lovely four day trip to Arizona to learn about Native American culture.

Prom
One of the highlights on the social calendar, NHP's Senior Prom showcases student elegance and good taste. The 2002, 2004, 2005,2007 & 2008 Proms were held at the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant, and a beautiful cruise boat in Marina del Rey created the elegant ambience for the 2003 Prom. This year's prom theme is "Viva Las Vegas"

Special Events
Special events such as the Gay-Straight Alliance exists to create a more accepting school and community. Students wanted a place where they could receive support from their peers, and be open and share their experiences with others in the same situation. Many NHP students have responded positively to the GSA's efforts to stop homophobia at our school.

NA/AA
Students who are dealing with drug/alcohol addiction and recovery issues are given the opportunity to attend bi-weekly 12-step NA/AA meetings off campus. In addition, the school has two facilitators who through their own recovery experiences support and encourage a sober lifestyle for our students. Under their guidance, students participate in confidential sober group meetings on campus to share and support each other in their recovery without judgment or fear. This is meant to give our students a safe place to share, gain support, and develop positive coping skills to deal with their addictions.
