THG’s North Hills Prep’s general student population is composed of students with average to above average cognitive ability, whom for various reasons have not yet achieved their educational potential. We also serve students with learning differences and diagnosed learning disabilities. Students are referred to THG’s North Hills Prep from two different sources:

• Students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are referred to North Hills Prep by the non-public school divisions of various districts. These students have been identified as students who can thrive in a smaller, more individualized school setting.
• Private students, whose parents want them to be in a more nurturing, individualized academic setting.

THG’s North Hills Prep also offers a Community Based Instructional (CBI) program. This self-contained program offers both a diploma track and a certificated program for those students who exhibit a wide variety of learning characteristics and abilities. Students learn skills that relate to performance demands of real world environments. Instructional priorities for each student are based on real world needs and lead toward increased independence and autonomy in the home and community.

THG’s North Hills Prep offers a six period school day to serve students targeted individual interests. Core requirements are scheduled in a standard four-year high school program. Students who are on track with credits can focus upon their interests and talents by taking elective courses in information technology and media, fine art, performing art and life skills. Elective offerings may change due to shifts in student interest.
