GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
2/25/08: Building launch ramp for skateboards
2/18/08: This week students will cut, glue, and nail 1"x1" frames to plywood canvas.
 Students will also mix and pour cement into bow shaped mold of steps leading to 
 fish pond.
-This week students will go over safety practices before operating machinery  
and utilizing various tools.
-Introduction to hand tools, electric tools and there uses.  This week 
students will measure objects with measuring tape and inter the data into 
their class graph book.  Students will keep log recording various exercises of 
units of measurement.  All measurement will be recorded in standard metric 
units.

1/2" plywood,  3'x5'
1/4" plywood,  3'x3'
2x4" 12ft.
1/2x1" 12 ft.

Jigsaw with 2" blade 
Miter saw
Skill saw
Hammer
1 1/2" nails

angle at length at 14' with a

With a yard stick, bend and
draw with a 3" curve into
center of the 36.77" hypotinus

LONG-TERM ASSIGNMENTS AND PROJECTS
-Students will identify and understand operational knowledge of the common 
tools and hardware used in carpentry. 
-Students will learn to draft small projects in specfic units of measurement.
-The industrial arts course bears the responsibility to stretch canvas frames 
for the visual arts program throughout the school year for the annual art show.
-Students will have the oppertunity to work on a series of progressively more 
difficult projects that require problem solving for specific assignments.
-Create a free standing sculpture consisting of raw material.
