GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Week of 3/10/08: Students will prepare for a mock interview and play the part of
an interviewee.  Students will complete interview tips checklist.  Additionally,
students are will committe to a community service activitiy of their choice or
service hours. See service hours log sheet. 
3/3/08:  
                 Current event and buisnes letter is due this week.
                 There is a field trip this Thursday.  Students must hand in  
field trip slips by Wendsday to view "Perisopolis"
Field trip- California Content Standard 3.0: Students analyze the role and
development of the visual arts in past and present cultures throughout the
world, noing human diversity as it relates to the visual arts and artists.

Week of 2/25/08:  Students will view film "The Devil and Daniel Johnstone". 

This film rated PG-13 is a documentary based on the life and times of artist and
musician Daniel Johnstone, a talented and eccentric individual that is
celebrated for his art but a person stuggling with manic depression and drug
abuse.  Daniel, is alive today and his story will provide students with the
challanges and triumphs of a man that is celebrated around the world still today. 
Service learning project:  Room 16 is responsible for an the NHP annual art 
show each semester.  Periodically, students will arrange art by current and 
former students. Students will also participate in planting flowers and 
growing vegetables throughout the semester in an effort to beautify campus 
In addition:
Room 16 Homeroom is a transition course, thus students are
responsible for completing various assignments such as weekly current events,
reading art reviews every Friday, completing a student budget, COPS Test,
fundraising, mock job interview, resume, job application, volunteer hours, and
researching colleges, and art related activities.  All students will have a 
file collecting  their assignments.
