Week of April 28-May2, 2008

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Our goal this week is to reach the half-way point in our reading of The Color
Purple. We will also continue to view the film in anticipation of a compare and
contrast review.

DAY CLASSWORK HOMEWORK
MONDAY
Read pgs 87-97 aloud in class

View 20 minutes of film.

TUESDAY
Read pgs 98-118 aloud in class.
Discuss and analyze the
characters and their
motivations. What are the
psychological explanations for
what they do?

WEDNESDAY
class. If, as one of your
classmates has stated, "The
Color Purple" is simply about
bashing abominable men, WHY do
you think this was a runaway
bestseller and Pulitzer Prize
winning novel?

THURSDAY
Continue viewing film to the
point we've read

FRIDAY
Pupil Free Day
