GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
For the next 2-3 weeks, inspired by National Public Radio's "Stories Project,"
students will listen to one of the stories on the CD recording and then write
their own stories, with the editorial rule that they be brief and that they be
true. We will cover such diverse subjects as ANIMALS, DEATH, DREAMS, etc.

Listen to the introduction of
"I Thought My Father was God"
-- the  book that came from
NPR's "Stories Project."
Discuss inspiration, truth
being stranger than fiction, etc.

Write your first story about
ANIMALS

Listen to the story of a woman
who abandoned her life as a
legal secretary, sold
everything and now lives in a
tent in someone's backyard in
Prescott Arizona, living solely
on the interest of her sold
valuables.

homelessness, alternative

descriptive writing assignments.
