Goals and Objectives

Students will continue to learn the rules, objects and fine points of strategy related to different cards, tile and board games. Students will continue to help others learn and understand how to play too. Tolerance and patience will be stressed


ESLRs

To ensure students are familiar with the Expected School-wide Learning Results the class will focus on: Capability, responsibility and confidence. Playing card and board games strengthens a student’s ability to develop cognitive skills in strategizing, adjusting to changing situations, as well as flexibility, and persistence in adapting to new information. Playing games help students express ideas and thoughts with clarity and confidence. With confidence and knowledge, students become more responsible and are more willing to support others during collaboration.

Activity: Begin rules/object/scoring of Rummique a tile game

Wednesday Activity: Play Rummique in two groups
Activity: Instruct in Chess and checkers

Thursday Activity: Students can choose to play any of the games already instructed None
Friday Activity: Continue different card games
Activity: Continue different board and tile games
