Yearbook/Journalism
Week of April 28, 2008

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
This is a hands-on class at yearbook/newspaper production where each student
participates in different aspects of the production. It is based on the
principles of design, student-directed learning, organizational dynamics,
student leadership, accountability, and division of labor. Students will
interact with peers, teachers, and the public as they develop imaging,
photography, and desktop publishing skills. This week we will make visual
progress as we set up a number of pages and begin student body photography in
earnest.

LONG-TERM ASSIGNMENTS AND PROJECTS
Response to ESLRS: Students will demonstrate critical thinking and problem
solving skills by participating as a group in making key decisions regarding
production of the yearbook. By creating a yearbook for the entire school
students demonstrate respect for diversity within their own community.
Perseverance and participation teach students respect for selves and others
working for a common goal.
