Marissa received her B.A. in Criminology, Law & Society from UC Irvine. Marissa began working with adolescents and their families over 8 years ago as a Special Education Paraprofessional at a low-income charter school. It was there that she realized she wanted to work with children, adolescents and their families on a more systemic level. Marissa returned to school and received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. During her traineeship Marissa worked in a school-based setting working with adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, acculturation, sexual identity, grief and loss, and family disruption.  Marissa began working for The Help Group (THG) in 2019 as a Residential Counselor at THG’s residential facility, Project 6. Beginning in summer 2022, Marissa became a School-Based Therapist for North Hills Prep.
